My story

Hi, I am Danielle. I am an energetic and creative person with heaps of ideas. Throughout my early marketing career I was quickly identified as a high achiever and team player.

Working for companies like Hewlett-Packard as a product manager and DeIfin Property Group,  as a marketing manager, I have spent over 20 years refining my strategic marketing skills. Feeling frustrated that really good ideas and customer insight was not able to be implemented easily in a large corporate, with the support of my husband Mark (already running his successful architectual practice), I decided to start my own business MacInnis Marketing in 2006.

By starting a small business from scratch and having 20 years of experience working for large companies, I have developed some unique skills as a marketing consultant. Being able to see how important the strategy and big picture is, whilst balancing this with real actionable practical plans. Marketing is all about creating customers that know, like and trust you. To do this you really have to take the time to understand your customers and their needs, show them empathy and the rest will fall into place.

My biggest asset has always been to think like a customer. This empathy for the customer has created insightful marketing strategies.

Even as a small kid my outlook was always for others and how they were feeling. Who have thought that I would take this attribute and build a business from it! But I have and I now see how customer insight is one of the most powerful marketing practices there is.

I am fortunate to work with CEOs of small businesses helping them make better business decisions, build better teams and brands. I mentor as part of the Australian Women Mentoring Network and am the founder of Brain Jamfor Students a online mentoring and coaching training for practical skills for Marketing students. I  also do a podcast to help small businesses with their marketing effort. I have also written and online small business marketing training module which is currently offered for free.
